Advancement

There are seven ranks of Scouting:

• Scout

• Tenderfoot

• Second Class

• First Class

• Star

• Life

• Eagle

In addition, there are over 100 merit badges. A Scout must earn 21 in total to reach the rank of Eagle, including 13 required merit badges:

• Camping

• Citizenship in the Community

• Citizenship in Society

• Citizenship in the Nation

• Citizenship in the World

• Cooking

• Communications

  • Cycling or Swimming or Hiking

  • Emergency Preparedness or Lifesaving

  • Environmental Science or Sustainability

• Family Life

• First Aid

• Personal Fitness

• Personal Management

Merit badges are done in cooperation with merit badge counselor, and we have counselors for a great number of badges in or affiliated with the troop.  Before starting any merit badge, you must talk to a Scoutmaster. Contact a Scoutmaster for list of counselors. Many badges are also available at summer camp and at Merit Badge University type offerings
